MP Police Constable (Driver): 1,000 posts

The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) lists 1,000 posts for Police Constable (Driver), open to 10th pass candidates aged 18 to 33. The last date is 29 October 2026. A driver constable drives and maintains police vehicles and works shifts that include nights and escort duties. The most important condition to check is the driving licence: police driver posts generally require a valid licence for the vehicle class in the notice, and sometimes a minimum period of driving experience. A learner licence will not do. The selection typically includes a written test, a physical test, a driving test and document verification, but the order and weightage are in the notification at esb.mp.gov.in.

To prepare for the driving test, practise with a licensed instructor on the basics: clutch control, gear shifting, parking, reversing, turning and traffic signs. Examiners look for safety and control, not speed. For the physical stage, run three or four days a week and read the physical standards in the notice.

WBPSC Lower Division Assistant and Clerk: last date 26 October

The West Bengal Public Service Commission lists these clerical posts with a 10th pass level. The listing does not give the vacancy count, age limit or fee. Clerical posts in state offices involve maintaining files and records, typing, data entry and assisting senior officers. Many West Bengal posts require knowledge of Bengali or another specified language, and typing or computer skills may be needed, so read the language and skill clauses first.

The exam for clerical posts usually has sections on general knowledge, language, arithmetic and mental ability. Practise percentage, ratio, average, profit and loss and time and work, and revise grammar and comprehension. If a typing test is part of the process, practise on a computer every day for at least half an hour and aim a little above the required speed.

JKSSB Class IV: 2,863 posts for 10th pass candidates

The largest of the three. Multi-Tasking Staff roles support office work, and sanitation workers maintain cleanliness in public premises. The board is expected to open applications around 14 October and to close them on 3 November 2026. J&K recruitments generally require candidates to meet domicile conditions, so check the permanent resident or domicile rules in the notice and prepare the certificate early, because it can take days to obtain. The selection could be a written test or based on merit, and the notice will tell you which. If it is a test, expect 10th-level questions on general knowledge, current events, basic maths and language.

How to choose where to apply

  • You can drive and are fit: MP Police Driver is a strong choice, because it is a narrower pool than general constable posts.
  • You prefer a desk job and live in West Bengal: WBPSC clerical post.
  • You are a resident of J&K: JKSSB Class IV, which has the most seats.

Domicile and language conditions mean that you cannot simply apply to all three. Check where you are eligible first.

What 10th pass state exams usually test

Most 10th level recruitment exams cover four areas: general knowledge and current affairs, basic maths, reasoning and language. Build a four-week plan. In week one, revise 10th maths and grammar. In week two, study general knowledge for your state: history, geography, culture and administration. In week three, solve timed previous papers. In week four, revise and take mocks. Read a newspaper every day for current affairs.

Documents to arrange

  • 10th marksheet and certificate showing date of birth.
  • Domicile, permanent resident or residence certificate as the state requires.
  • Caste and category certificates in the state format.
  • Driving licence for the MP driver post.
  • Aadhaar, photographs and signature scans.

Common mistakes to avoid

Applicants apply for a state where they do not meet domicile conditions, upload certificates that do not follow the state format, calculate their age on the wrong date, or miss the fee date. A few miss the closing time because they treat the last date as the whole day. Submit at least two days before the deadline and save the final PDF.

What the three selections have in common

Whatever the state, a Class 10 level recruitment follows a similar rhythm: a notice with a fixed window, a written test or merit list, a skill or physical stage for some posts and document verification at the end. The biggest difference between those who get selected and those who do not is not intelligence. It is preparation for the stage that people ignore. For driver posts, that is the driving test. For clerical posts, it is typing. For Class IV posts, it is the domicile certificate and documents. Find out which stage is the hidden filter in your recruitment and prepare for it first.

Plan your documents like a project

List every document in the notice, mark which ones you already have and which need to be applied for, and note the time each takes. Certificates issued by tehsil offices or sub-divisional authorities can take one to three weeks. Start those first. Keep scanned copies in a single folder on your phone and a printed set in a plastic file. When a call letter arrives with a short deadline, you will be ready.

How to avoid scams

Recruitment scams spike around large Class 10 level notices. Fake websites ask for registration fees, agents promise selection for money and messages claim that “seats are limited”. The real application is only on the official commission or board website, and the fee, if any, is paid only on the official portal. If someone asks you to transfer money to a personal account, stop and report it.
