Why this recruitment is easy to get wrong

Most commission drives have one advertisement and one last date. APPSC has split this one into three waves. The first set of notifications opened on 6 October and closes on 27 October 2026. The second opens on 9 October and closes on 29 October. The third and larger set opens between 13 and 16 October and closes between 2 and 5 November. Candidates who apply for a post in the later wave and forget about an earlier one end up with a missed deadline. Put every relevant last date in your phone calendar today.

For the other posts, the age limit, fee and qualifications were not in the coverage we saw, so we are not guessing. Download the notification for your post number from psc.ap.gov.in and read the eligibility box first. In APPSC notifications this box also states the cut-off date for age and for completion of qualifying exams.

How to approach a multi-post drive

First, list the notifications you are eligible for. Second, check whether any require physical standards, a typing test or a language paper, because those stages shape your preparation more than the written syllabus. Third, check overlaps. Many APPSC posts share general studies and general aptitude, so you can prepare once for several. Finally, apply early for the notification that closes first. If you are eligible for both a forest post and a technical post, check the exam dates in the notification, since two exams on the same day cannot both be attempted.

Preparation tips for the common papers

Commission exams in Andhra Pradesh typically include a general studies component covering current events, Indian polity, history, geography, economy and science, with state-specific topics on Andhra Pradesh. Build a habit of reading one good newspaper daily and making short notes. For technical posts, revise your degree-level subject, because the second paper is often a subject paper. Practise previous-year APPSC papers, which give the best sense of the question style.

Other state recruitments to compare

If you are also looking at other states, see Karnataka Prisons 2026 and BPSC TRE 4.0, and keep the upcoming jobs page bookmarked.

What the selection usually looks like

Public service commissions in the states generally conduct a screening or written examination and, for many officer-level posts, an interview. Technical and forest posts often add a physical or practical test. The post-wise notification tells you which stages apply to which post, along with the number of papers, the marking scheme and the weightage of the interview. Do not rely on a generic idea of “how APPSC works”. Open the PDF for your post number and write down the stages in a notebook.

Documents to prepare before the form opens

  • Class 10 certificate for date of birth and name.
  • Degree or diploma certificates and marksheets for the qualifying course.
  • Caste, EWS or disability certificates in the format prescribed by the commission.
  • A recent photograph and signature in the size required.
  • Any local status or residence certificate that the notification asks for.
  • Experience or physical standard proofs, if the post asks for them.

The most common reasons for rejection

Commissions reject applications for avoidable reasons: a mismatched name or date of birth between certificates and the form, a qualification that is not on the notified list, missing a category document, or an invalid photograph. Before you submit, open your certificates side by side with the form on screen and read each field once. It takes ten minutes and can save a whole recruitment cycle.

Plan your study around the earliest exam

Several of these exams will likely be held in different months. Start with general studies, which is common to many posts, and then add subject-specific preparation for the post with the earliest date. Keep notes in short, revisable form, because the time between closing date and exam is often only a few weeks.
